You may have been lucky today as I gifted a Jeep in the Starbucks drive thru a $5 gift card just for having cool red running boards and a red front grill. If you see this post a comment and let me know what you ordered!

Should you see my Jeep in a Starbucks drive through in Manhattan Kansas you may also be lucky and get coffee as a gift from me for your day ahead.

We all need positivity and that’s what will make us have a great day!

2021 Updates! Sorry, I am one busy momma!

Hey there! So it’s been a year! I really hate to leave you all hanging but I have been busy busy busy!

So the kids are in a new year of school (Junior in HS and 2nd grader). I have opted to keep them masked even though their school went to voluntary masking. My teen is vaccinated and it was her choice. (what a touchy subject nowadays… VACCINES)

I celebrated my 3rd year with my Company and my 1st full year of being 100% remote….. YAY

I took on a side job to make some extra cash on nights and weekends when I can; as a Notary Signing agent; specifically for home loans and auto loans. I am just the Notary in these transactions and it’s fun and I meet so many new people! Masked of course.

We have less than two years left in Kansas (yes, I am already counting down).

I lost my COVID weight from my most recent post, but I did it with the help of my trusty LIVE AMINO plan as I did before. I will tell you it’s not as easy losing the weight being 8 years older than I was the last time I did it. But, I kept it off pretty well after my 4th pregnancy and birth of my youngest in 2014, then the PANDEMIC hit, and I ate a lot! So from November 2020 – March 2021, I dropped 20lbs! I still have 10 to go but I am being more lenient on myself this time around. (See my AMINO story for my discount code)

My daughter starts club volleyball here in Kansas, finally! Last year there really were no clubs running and if there were, we missed the tryouts with our move to Kansas. I can’t wait to watch her compete again and we picked a great club that has a passion in teaching her more and wants to watch her grow and succeed.

With all that being said I have one more update!!

My youngest daughter (volleyball player) is turning 16 in a few weeks!! She already has a car since in KS you can drive at 14 with a permit. But she will be fully licensed in December. We did a sweet 16 photoshoot and the photos are amazing. She is such a shining light in my life. Well, all my kids are but 16 is such a transitional age in a teenager’s life and you realize they grow up too fast and wish away so many years to be this age…. and here it is… (going to cry now).

Oh, I also started a podcast but I have only had time to post one little podcast. But it’s a good one! I hope to do more soon!

bye for now!

Momma

Here is my Sweet 16

Let’s talk Pandemic….and COVID weight gain!

Can we talk Pandemic for a moment? I mean we all are going to have some post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from this crazy time we are in and I know many of us are going nuts over having to adjust to the new normalcy of life.

March 9th 2020 was my last sense of normalcy. I was en route to Syracuse, NY to meet my new boss and team. I work for a global company that specializes in environmental consulting and engineering and I have been with this company for 2 years as an administrative assistant.

Due to my husband’s recent orders of relocation with the military, I had to give my notice to my current boss here in Maine as the last date of 5/1. With this notice, someone heard through the grapevine that I was leaving the company and they felt their department could use my experience and still allow me to retain my job no matter where I was located; this means working remotely. long story short I nailed my phone interview and effective 5/1 I was set to transfer over to the Marketing department as a Marketing Project Manager.

On Friday March 13th I began my drive home from Syracuse and by now the news of COVID-19 is becoming more and more frequent. The entire time I was in Syracuse I was going out to lunch and dinner with my team and everything seemed so normal. Once I was home that weekend was the last weekend anything in Maine was open to the public and it was the last weekend my kids had of freedom before we got the alert of school being closed the following week.

School for my kids was closed for a whole week prior to them starting distant learning and we were also in the middle of packing up our house and preparing to move to a temporary location until we left Maine to do to Kansas in June.

Fast forward to August 2020 we are now in Kansas and getting settled in to our new home and new life; still in a pandemic, things are starting to ease. We have been very cautious during the last few months and have adapted to masks, clean hands, and being very aware of our surroundings. Thankfully we don’t know many people so we have no problem social distancing these days.

My two youngest kids just started school. BOY WAS THAT A TOUGH DECISION. I am a hypochondriac and struggle with germs and any sickness so it scared me. But they both showed responsibility of wearing masks and being aware of their hand washing on a daily basis. And the schools in our area are very low in numbers for enrollment. We are just 1/3 of the size of the schools in Maine.

At the end of the day the decision to send them in person vs online was I am already working full-time and cannot adhere to the online schedule for my youngest not to mention the 6 hours of logged work we would have to complete each day. I am not a good parent-teacher. I also think he missed social interactions (with what it is now, is better than nothing). I also want to say if you are a parent reading this and you chose to either send your kids to physical class or if you decided to keep your kids home, YOUR CHOICE WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE! Whatever you chose was the right thing for you. We need to all remember we are all in this together and we walk very different walks of life, but we should never ever put down a parent for a choice they made and maybe that choice gave them ten thousand grey hairs like me, but it was their choice. Parents need more support, we all do not have to follow the same path and even though we all have opinions, be sensitive to others choices.

We are all in this together.

Let’s talk COVID weight gain – this is real y’all! Like seriously. I lost 36lbs before I had my last baby over 6 years ago and i was at my lowest weight for my height. (5’2″ and 122lbs) And now I am my heaviest – even 2lbs heavier than before I lost all the weight…….. ugh 158!

But now that the kids are in school and we have a routine, I will be starting a 28 day challenge with Isagenix. I am excited to start this journey and commitment to become the best part of me! It’s not just about losing lbs, its about committing to a daily movement and being more aware of what I am consuming on a daily basis. And my office is in the basement so I plan to run up and down the stairs many times a day to keep my activity level up and commit to my movement!

If anyone else wants to join me the challenge starts after Labor day! https://uprootedmomma.isagenix.com/

And now that I am settled you can expect more posts to come. I apologize for the silent break but I AM BACK!
