Update….Update….Update!!!
Holy cow what a crazy few months it has been! I apologize for the hiatus however since Volleyball started in February and I landed 2 jobs working almost 50 hours a week; I have had absolutely no time to update my blog. So here I am…..
I want to start by telling you all how proud I am of my middle daughter. She ended Basketball in February and went right into Volleyball; which I must mention is my all-time favorite sport, and a sport I still play to this day!
Basketball did not tickle her fancy like volleyball does, and she mentally can connect to it better which has helped her excel in the sport.
Being a sport mom is exhausting but I love watching her grow and make friends in her team. Her team only had 2 players out of 10 girls who had played prior with this organization under USA Volleyball.
These girls have all grown… most couldn’t even serve it over the net, including my girl; but by the first NERVA tournament they all could and their team won 2nd PLACE! Which bumped them up from the B level into the A’s. This means they will go up against tougher teams.
My daughter is very athletic and loves to stay active so my hope is there is a sport scholarship in her future…. HOLY cow, there are only about 5 more years left until COLLEGE….. She better get a scholarship lol, otherwise the military is always hiring… ha!
My daughter has a pretty cool signature serve style and has this wrist twist that she does right before her hand makes contact with the ball. This twist has helped her timing in serving and improved her strength. She has also developed a great skill in hitting and blocking is her favorite!
For all the Volleyball parents out there who support their kids in the sport; HATS OFF TO YOU! It’s not easy having to sit on hard bleachers during 9 hour tournaments inside of school gyms and developing “Bleacher Butt” lol.
Today will be full of new blog post prepping so I can schedule a new post periodically even while I am working all my jobs! So for now enjoy this one along with the pics another team’s mother took at last weeks NERVA Tournament! (thanks Beth B.)
